Pictures Shooting Star Mine

KMT is located 100 miles S.W. from Las Vegas in Mohave County Arizona and across the Cerbat Mountains ridge from Mineral Park. Mining in the area began in 1871. The mines produced primarily silver, gold, copper, lead and zinc. A 2013 report said that the Mineral Park Mine (across the ridge from KMT) now represented one of the largest copper reserves in the United States and the world.
